Day 2 ~ 25 miles and 7 locks (14 to us!)

Day 2 of our trip down to Rickmansworth from Norbury Junction has been glorious!

Setting off around the village of Acton Trussell

Another little butty

Passing through Baswich on the outskirts of Stafford, the junction sign follows the line of the old link to the town (Stafford) via a lock down to the river.   There are plans to have it reinstated.

Pretty setting

Everyone is enjoying the sunshine

Passing down through Tixall Lock, there is the lovely expanse of Tixall Wide, quite busy with moored boats

Approaching the junction at Great Haywood.  We turn right here to get onto the Trent and Mersey Canal.  Left takes the boater to Stone and Liverpool etc

The long bend into Great Haywood visitor area and Shugborough Hall and Museum

Beautiful scenery on the way to Rugeley

The Trent Aqueduct taking us over the river and then left into Rugeley

Back through the site of the old Armitage Tunnel

Fradley Junction swingbridge taking uus onto the Coventry Canal

Passing through the outskirts of Fradley Village under the A38
