Day 8 ~ 20 miles and 6 locks

Day 8 of our journey to Rickmansworth from Norbury Junction 179 miles and 3 weeks (each festival) apart!

Dropping down through the locks at Stoke Bruerne in the rain

Richard on the tiller, with the boats breasted together, is the quickest way to get through the locks ( as opposed to me on the tiller!)

Bottom lock

After we filled up with water, empty toilets and dropped off rubbish, oh and a sausage sandwich, we continued past the river feed (on the right) below the lock

Cosgrove

The Wolverton iron aqueduct overlooking the valley and river

Wolverton and the impressive new flats

Lots of herons

Milton Keynes

Works on a badly cracked old bridge

Lovely buildings

After accidentally being filmed by BBC Look East for a piece about continuous cruisers and minimal travelling distances, we carried on out of Milton Keynes and on to Fenny Stratford

As the evening had brightened up a bit, we had gone a bit further than our plan had taken us, mooring at Stoke Hammond

Remaining Journey ~ 32 miles and 61 locks
