Settling in for a cold winter at Bardney

Another glorious day in Bardney on the River Witham, just south of Lincoln.  Good day to everyone!

Milk churns recently completed as part of my stock replenishment for next season

The sun is out and the jumpers are not to be seen and it's wonderful to be alive!  We are now on our Winter Morning ready for the 1st November official start, plugged in to the electricity and can now relax!

The rowing race (around 200 boats took part) from Lincoln to Boston

Since my last post, we have negotiated rowers during the rowing race (on a line!), which we didn't know was taking part, but needed to move the boats on one of my other half's rare days off!

Breasted up and moving downstream under the old railway bridge at Bardney Lock

Continuously moving around after a few days in each location, just to keep on the right side of everyone (other boaters, but mainly Canal and River Trust) and keep Richard not too far from work.  He has had some challenging bike rides until we have retrieved the car!

Bardney Heritage Centre - as well as a museum, they do a lovely fish and chip meal

Seen the sights and supported the local businesses especially the food establishments....

Skegness beach and a dog who doesn't really understand sand and the sea, but he loved it!

Been across to say hello to my dad at Skeg.  We used to live there and scattered his ashes in the sea with his boat club's help.  Always a bit sad, but I do chuckle when I think what his controversial  comments about the wind farm would be, out off the central beach there!  Proper Mr Grumpy!! R.I.P. Dad x

A bit flooded on the Village Moorings a couple of weeks back

We did worry at one point that we would get flooded below the lock on the village moorings, as the river came right up and flooded the grass bank.

The sign behind the ramp was only a foot out of the water a couple of years ago!

This picture shows it going down, but we did have to paddle across to the steps earlier on in the day!  And I found the hole in my wellies!

And Lister got his new winter coat, except it is a little bit small.....

Lister discovered that he could use his legs once his coat was tried on for size, ready for the colder weather.  Bless him, he is very sensitive and must have thought we were punishing him!

So here we are, the OH is out working hard and I am working hard trying to create items of loveliness for my Gift Shop.

I have a Clearance Event happening on my website on 1st November onwards, selling items from last summer season.  I don't have room for everything and this will help to properly launch my website which I built last winter.  Please have a look and if there are any questions or multi purchase postage queries, let me know and I will get straight back to you!!

The link is Chamberlain Carrying Co, and will have items of ropework, canal art (Roses and Castles) and Canalia.  Hopefully something for everyone!  Thank you for your interest x
