Had some success with the stall at Great Haywood, will have to paint another bucket now!
We moved off at about 6.30am through the junction past all the boats soon to be hired out Saturday morning, to try to avoid some carnage going through the locks!
Tixall Wide was so peaceful.
Anyone missing a nightie? It was around the prop, along with various bags. Luckily there was no one in the nightie, ooohh!
As the locks were all quite deep (10 feet ish) , it seemed to take us all day to get to Penkridge where we wanted to stop, as it looked like a suitable place to open the stall over the weekend.
Big fat rats also love it in Penkridge! (left in picture) Well meaning locals throw bread onto the path for the ducks, boosting the rat population instead! We watched several different ones on both banks, I wonder if the residents would do it if they knew?
Richard keeps looking at old butty's,we'll have to see how this year goes and maybe!
Didn't bother with the shop as we decided it wasn't appropriate mooring really and instead painted the inside of the butty!
Today, we sailed easily through 5 locks (well 10 if you count the butty) and arrived first on the moorings for our banter at the weekend at the marina at Calf Heath, when it tried to rain!!!!
